How Study Inn is Responding to Covid-19: Our Safe Operating Video

At Study Inn, we recognise that starting university in 2020 may seem like an especially daunting experience. While you have all of the usual worries surrounding living away from home for the first time, you also have the added burden of wondering how covid-19 will impact your academic experience.

That’s why we’ve created our brief ‘Safe Operating’ video, to offer an insight into how we’ll be keeping you and all of our other students safe. You see, for the last few months, we’ve been putting a number of processes and procedures in place, to ensure that your health and wellbeing are our number one priority.

While the team at Study Inn remain committed to providing a premier living experience, we’ve also placed a renewed emphasis on keeping you safe when you stay with us at our student accommodation in Cambridge and elsewhere.

Here are just a few of the important steps we’ve taken.

One of the ways we’ve done this is by equipping our reception desks with protective screens, to ensure that our staff are able to provide their usual premium service, but without endangering either you or themselves.

In addition, we’ve added floor markers in a number of locations throughout our buildings, to make it easier for students to maintain social distancing and keep virus transmission to an absolute minimum.

We’ve also added personalised key card control to our fantastic en-suite studios, created a maximum capacity rule for our lifts, and installed anti-bacterial stations throughout our properties.

Just as importantly, we’ve made it easier to identify if you may be unwell or developing symptoms of covid-19 by implementing regular temperature checks for all students.

Our employees have their own additional precautions in place, to allow them to provide a healthy and safe environment for the young adults who’ll be staying with us. These include sanitising their hands as soon as they arrive on site, adhering to social distancing measures, and undergoing the same temperature checks as our residents. Full PPE will also be provided for all staff and visitors.

We have brought in facility hygiene to a whole new level too. Which includes the upgrading of our cleaning products, biweekly towel and linen replacement, and cleaning all potential touchpoints and high-volume areas at regular intervals.

An 72-hour window has been introduced between checkouts and check-ins as well, while also enabling students to report any issues online through our student portal, in order to minimise contact between themselves and staff members.

Our social areas are now open, following government guidelines. We will continue to provide virtual fitness workouts, online activity calendars, and interactive games that can be played from the safety of your room should you prefer this option.

Committed to delivering the best of both worlds for those who choose to stay in our Cambridge student accommodation or at any of our locations, our all-inclusive packages are designed to make you feel safe, cared for, and supported during your time at university.

Got any further questions or queries about our covid-19 measures? Then either contact us via email or telephone today or take a moment to watch our ‘Safe Operating’ video at We hope you will find it useful.
