At Study Inn, we understand the dramatic life overhaul that comes from leaving home for the first time. For most of the young people starting university in September, everything familiar is about to change – but that’s not necessarily a bad thing!
While saying goodbye to your friends and family can initially be upsetting, a whole new world of opportunities is about to open up to you. You’ll meet new people, gain fascinating insights into your chosen subject, and get to experience living independently and striking out on your own.
Unfortunately, coronavirus has thrown a slight spanner in the works for this year’s university goers, but that doesn’t mean your experience has to be ruined. In fact, here at Study Inn, we’ve made a real effort to ensure that living in our Cambridge student accommodation or Coventry student accommodation is as enjoyable as ever.
While we have had to implement some changes to keep all of our staff and students safe, you’ll still have access to nearly all of our fabulous facilities. Here’s how we’ll be making sure that our tenants stay happy, healthy, and virus free moving forward.
Lots of our Study Inn facilities have gyms onsite, but if you want to use them this year, you’ll have to do so a little differently. While we’ll try and accommodate our students as much as possible, social distancing will remain in place, and you’ll also find that hand sanitisation stations have been installed (among a host of other protective measures).
If you’re not quite ready to get back to the gym just yet, that’s okay too: we’ve also created a series of virtual fitness workouts to help you stay in shape without leaving your room. This means your exercise regime doesn’t need to slip should you wish to avoid crowded spaces for a little longer.
For those staying in our student accommodation in Cambridge, we’ll be producing online activity calendars too, so you know what’s happening where. We’ll only feature events that meet all of the current government guidelines, so you can socialise while also staying safe. This is a great way to meet new people given that many traditional fresher’s events have had to be shelved.
Most of our student accommodation is located within easy walking distance of local amenities, but if you don’t fancy carrying your heavy shopping home on foot, you’ll also find lots of handy public transport links for you to take advantage of. Do remember, however, that if you decide to hop on the bus, you’ll need to take a mask with you, in order to keep you and everybody else as safe as can be.
When it comes to your university experience, those whose courses begin in September will have some additional complications to contend with, but that doesn’t mean you can’t have fun and enjoy yourself! Follow our guidance above for safe socialising, and we guarantee that you’ll still get to enjoy a great start to the academic year.
