In October, the entire Golden Mile is blanketed in a shimmer of gold, red and green jewels, dancing lights and beaded decorations. These spectacular Diwali displays take place every year, as the streets fill with people eager to celebrate in colourful clothing, with live Bhangra and Punjabi music, and traditional dishes giving off incredible aromas.

In February the Leicester Comedy Festival takes over 90 venues across Leicestershire, putting on performances of musical comedy, stand up, one liners and political sketches including ‘pay what you feel’ events.

Come spring and summer, Leicester’s events take place under the shining sun, normally at Victoria Park. This historical park plays a pivotal role in Leicester’s most popular events including Leicester’s Race for Life, Caribbean Carnival, and Pride festival.
